The history of the “terminic” range goes back more than 70 years when Unterweser Reederie AG of Bremen, Germany requested that a calendar be designed for use in the shipping industry enabling charters to see several months at a glance.
The calendar had also to show an illustration and the companies’ advertisement. With this brief, in 1937, B.C. Heye & Co. developed and launched the first ever 3 month to view advertising calendar. However, due to Word War II, development of this “epoch making” calendar was delayed until 1949.
In the early 1950s B.C Heye & Co. supplied these large calendars mainly to shipping and allied companies under the simple name of “shipping calendars”.
Gradually companies from other industries found these 3 months to view calendars a useful tool and began to use them for their own advertising.
By the end of the 1950s such was the demand that 2 additional sizes for this calendar were introduced.
The successful development of the 3 month to view calendar for both forward planning and advertising led B.C. Heye and Co. in 1967 to register an international trademark for the product.
The name “terminic” a synonym of 3 month to view calendars was introduced.
In 2000 terminic uk ltd was incorporated under direction of terminic GmbH Managing Director, offering a UK base and sales force to cater for the increasing demand for the “terminic” range within the UK and Ireland.
To date the “terminic” range offers more than 15 different model options and over 25 language datepads in 5 attractive shades.
